RECLAIMING IDENTITY

What does the word identity and the act of reclaiming mean to me?

In a world filled with chaos and a question that crosses or has crossed everyone's mind;
Who Am I? What Am I Created To Do On This Planet?

Before encountering Jesus Christ, I wouldn't have been able to give you an answer to this question as my Identity was in utter shambles; it was always secured to things that never filled a persistent void that was present in my soul. The result of my once shambolic identity was, viewing life through bleak lenses.

Moreover, this editorial was shot to document and to celebrate the journey of knowing who i am today and having Reclaimed my once lost Identity. I can now confidently say Identity to me is more than race, gender, career, surname etc. It's having and putting Jesus Christ as the foundation of my life.

The love of Christ and who he is, will forever be my identity and that will always come first as his Spirit continues to embolden me to walk daily in the callings he has predestined for me; meaning I know who I am and what I have been made for.

Jesus Christ being my identity means i know i am unconditionally loved by God and this translates to living the way God has called me to. This has enabled me to see myself and others in a different light; with love that could only have come from God himself.

"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority". ‭ Colossians 2:9-10.
